Our military instructors have operated in some of the most inhospitable places on Earth and have gained a wealth of knowledge, quick wins and shortcuts to enhance success in the wild.
Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis, Snowdon. All fantastic mountains and ones that certainly should be on your tick list... However, the UK has far more to offer in beauty, difficulty, remoteness and satisfaction.

- Tryfan, perhaps one of the best scrambles in the UK?
- Helvellyn, an iconic mountain, best achieved over the equally iconic Striding Edge.
- The ring of Steall. Do you want a real challenge? Well, enter Scotland and a journey that transports you into the heart of the Highlands.

Aside from the physical mountain skills required to operate independently, perhaps most important is the ability to navigate in all conditions.
Can you confidently say you could safely get yourself off of a mountain, in dense fog, howling wind and horizontal rain, with no phone signal? This is when the ability to use a trusted map and compass is paramount. It could save a life.
Perhaps you know the basics and are now looking to fine-tune your navigation. You wish to use differing scale maps, work on efficiency or navigating at night? Contact us today to learn from operationally experienced professionals.
Low group ratios are used to ensure sufficient training to all participants.
A group of friends, a teamwork development opportunity, an individual wanting to find adventure? Whatever your reasoning, the best way to experience the mountains is to immerse on a multi-day deployment.
Some of our previous expeditions include:
- Op MEDUSA
A 2-night expedition covering some of the largest mountains in Snowdonia. A wild camp each night ensured a whole range of mountain skills were covered.
- Op IRON WILL
A 3-night expedition into one of the most remote areas of Scotland. This journey targeted a very remote Scottish mountain, Ben Alder. The journey started with a train journey to the most isolated stop in the UK; Corrour Station, famed for the film Train Spotting.
- Op COYOTE
A 2-night expedition in the Lake District, discovering the wildest and perhaps most beautiful valley in the National Park; Ennerdale. A mixture of camp site and wild camping ensured a mix of adventure and BBQ goodness!
